On December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers-who were a pair of
self-taught engineers from Dayton, Ohio-ushered in an new era that would impact
the world forever, the era of flight.
This new era began when the two brothers created the world's first ever
airplane near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The wright brothers airplane was only off the ground for 12 seconds but
it was enough to launch the brothers into aeronautical history.

I find this invention to be one of the most influential inventions of the 1900s.
